Department Coordinator
Are you passionate about craftsmanship, humanitarian work, and leading teams to success? SKILLS FACTORY in Samos is looking for a dedicated and motivated Department Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
About SKILLS FACTORY:
At SKILLS FACTORY in Samos, craftspeople from around the world unite to share their expertise, ideas, and produce essential items themselves. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where learning and community thrive.
As department coordinator you will be responsible for:
- Leading and overseeing SKILLS FACTORY’s activities and teams.
- Coordinating production, distribution of humanitarian aid, and external projects.
- Supervising the departments and providing guidance and support to the team of external and community volunteers.
- Leading team meetings.
- Introducing and mentoring a team of up to 5 external volunteers.
- Managing infrastructure, machines, equipment, and tools, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Overseeing accounting, reporting, outreach, and social media tasks.
- Reporting to the director.
- Representing selfm.aid to various stakeholders, sponsors, and partners.
Requirements:
- Experience and passion for craftsmanship and team leadership.
- Background in humanitarian work or social services.
- Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, delegate, and take responsibility.
- Fluent in English (knowledge of other languages, especially Greek, French, or Arabic, is a plus).
- Motivated, well-structured, creative, and reliable.
- The ability to remain calm, friendly, and humorous even in stressful situations.
- Mental stability and the capacity to handle confronting situations while maintaining healthy boundaries.
- A person-centered, participatory, and resource-oriented approach.
- A willingness to learn from colleagues and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Alignment with our values, philosophy, and vision.
- Availability from December 2023
