Media Facilitator

In the SKILLS FACTORY on Samos crafts(wo)men from all over the world come together to share their expertise and their ideas, to learn with and from each other and to produce the things they need the most, themselves.

Overview:

The vision of our media department at the SKILLS FACTORY is to showcase and advocate for the skills and potential of individuals displaced to Samos, Greece, and Europe through a multi-media approach. This involves leveraging various media forms—photography, videos, interviews, social media, exhibitions, written content (newspapers), and event organization—to achieve this overarching aim.

We seek a Facilitator to carry out strategy, planning, and training programs within the SKILLS FACTORY certification framework. This role involves setting up workshops, defining team structures and procedures, and implementing these initiatives while collaborating closely with the media coordinator and a team of community volunteers passionate about or experienced in media work.

As department facilitator you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with the department coordinator to establish media plans.
  • Organize the required equipment for the media department.
  • Recruit a dedicated team of community volunteers.
  • Facilitate the production of diverse media content, encompassing photography, written materials, social media campaigns, exhibitions, and event management.
  • Orient new team members to the department and the SKILLS FACTORY.
  • Facilitate production, training, purchases, orders, and maintenance.
  • Organize departmental tasks, ensuring each member can flourish while maintaining a productive environment.
  • Manage stock, inventory, and material procurement.
  • Conduct weekly department meetings for feedback, discussion, and planning future productions.
  • Implement structures and routines for workshop organization.
  • Provide weekly reports and collaborate actively with project management for sustainable departmental development.
  • Establish procedures, schedules, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Vocational training and relevant professional experience in media-related fields.
  • Highly motivated, structured, creative, adaptable, and open to learning from a diverse global team.
  • Mentally resilient and capable of navigating challenging situations while maintaining healthy boundaries (minimum age 23).
  • Alignment with our values, philosophy, and vision, along with cultural sensitivity and openness to different perspectives.
  • Minimum commitment of 2 months, preferably longer (3 months+).
