Mental Health Supervisor

selfm.aid, a Swiss-Greek humanitarian NGO, aims to address humanitarian crises and social injustices by empowering affected individuals to create aid using local resources.

While our approach is positive, the volatile context often presents challenging situations, necessitating mental health support for all involved. We seek a skilled psychologist experienced in supporting teams in challenging environments to join our dynamic team as a Mental Health Supervisor.

Responsibilities (ca. 10 - 15%):

  • Serve as the focal point for mental health policies and practices.
  • Support the on-the-ground team through one-to-one or group check-ins.
  • Strengthen and implement mental health policies and practices, including welfare meetings.
  • Provide regular supervision for coordinators.
  • Offer support and facilitation during organizational challenges.
  • Facilitate the annual vision meeting of the board.

Requirements:

  • Education and experience in psychotherapy, supervision, or social work; humanitarian sector experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Openness to peer-to-peer learning
  • Fluency in English or German (or both)
  • Alignment with and promotion of our values, philosophy, and vision
